NTHU is a public university in Taiwan, founded in Beijing, China in 1911, and re-established in Hsinchu in 1956.The QS World University Rankings® 2019 ranks NTHU #163 among the universities worldwide.The Center for Waldorf Education, established in 2012, aims to advance the research and development of Waldorfeducation, offering a variety of workshops and non-degree teacher preparation programs. The Center has alsosupported the development of more than a dozen public and private Waldorf or Waldorf-inspired schools inTaiwan through networking and resource sharing.In 2019, NTHU established the first international Master’s program in Waldorf Education in Asia. In cooperationwith the Seminar für Waldorfpädagogik Hamburg and the Freie Hochschule Stuttgart in Germany, this programis designed to serve the needs of in-service Waldorf teachers who are interested in pursuing personal andprofessional development in a globalized and digitalized age.
